The Replacements have reunited.

Take a few minutes to digest that.

Rolling Stone are reporting that Paul Westerberg and Tommy Stinson reunited to record a covers EP to benefit former bandmate, Slim Dunlap, who suffered a stroke earlier this year. Westerberg's solo guitarist Kevin Bowe and drummer Peter Anderson joined the duo to record Dunlap's solo song 'Busted Up', 'Lost Highway' (Hank Williams), 'Everything’s Coming Up Roses' (Gypsy Musical) and Gordon Lightfoot's 1965 song 'I'm Not Sayin'.

The EP will be released as a 10" EP later in the year, with the 250 copies being auctioned off.

More interestingly than that, Westerberg commented that this might not be all they do...

"It's possible. After playing with Tommy last week, I was thinking, 'All right, let’s crank it up and knock out a record like this.' I'm closer to it now than I was two years ago, let's say that."
