The Smashing Pumpkins are touring North America, with Liz Phair this summer, with original drummer Jimmy Chamberlin back with them. Kicking off the tour at Portland's Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall last night, the band delivered a set that included covers of David Bowie’s 'Space Oddity' and the Rolling Stones' 'Angie.' Nearing the end of their show, the Smashing Pumpkins also played 'Malibu,' a song that Billy Corgan co-wrote on Hole's 1998 album Celebrity Skin, with Australian singer-songwriter and part-time Pumpkin Katie Cole handling the vocals.
