The Weeknd rarely does interviews. Ever. But the Wall Street Journal was lucky enough to snag some words from the Canadian singer about his forthcoming album and he completely unveiled who inspired the new project.

Abel Tesfaye declared that Starboy is "a thousand percent" influenced by the deaths of David Bowie and Prince and that the title is a nod to Bowie's Ziggy Stardust track 'Starman.' He also claimed that he was gearing up to record with Prince at Paisley Park before the icon's untimely death in April.
