Over the weekend, video footage surfaced of Adele stating that she won't be performing at the 2017 Super Bowl halftime show. "First of all, I'm not doing the Super Bowl," Adele told her Los Angeles crowd during her tour stop. "I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don't really — I don't dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I did say no."

But it turns out that she may have never even been asked to perform, according to a new statement from NFL and Pepsi. "The NFL and Pepsi are big fans of Adele," they said. "We have had conversations with several artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, we have not at this point extended a formal offer to Adele or anyone else." Super Bowl 51 will take place at Houston’s NRG Stadium on Feb. 5, 2017.
