For the first song to drop from his second EP of 2012, Throwing Snow has chosen to get literal with the title, 'Aspera', which is Latin for "to make rough". Listening to the title track, the only thing I can think of is how much I want to, um, make rough, myself. After a short intro, the synths, strings and punchy kick all settle into an incredibly slick groove that's difficult not to get into. Kind of hard not to want to get under the covers with your lover, if you know what I mean.

While maintaining his usual stylistic shifts within each song, it's a bit of a change of pace for the producer, whose releases so far have been a bit more hard-hitting. Here the only that has a bit more of a punch is the kick (pun partially intended), but that's not always a bad thing.

'Aspera' is a four-track EP due on December 3rd via Throwing Snow's own Snowfall imprint.
