Back in 2012, which seems so long ago now, Tinashe signed a record deal with RCA. Since then she's been putting out a few mixtapes here and there as well as collaborations with the likes of Jacques Greene. Word has also been going round that she's been working with the likes of Clams Casino and Ryan Hemsworth for her debut album. Now, after much waiting, we finally here something related to her still untitled debut album, a Schoolboy Q guesting track, '2 On'.

Tinashe's sensual vocals, which are part Ciara, part RockaByeBaby Cassie, floats along on the DJ Mustard trap beat before Schoolboy Q comes in with a pretty generic, rap-cliché verse. In fact, most of the lyrics are tremendously clichéd, all smoking weed and getting faded. Tinashe has the talent; her vocals are sultry and, when she needs to, can get a great flow going, but it feels wasted with the lyrics. For now, Cassie's position as the Queen of sexy R&B is safe, but the crown has slipped just slightly as Tinashe starts to figure things out.
