Tindersticks have announced they'll be releasing a new album next year, their first since 2012's The Something Rain. But The Waiting Room is no standard LP: the new release -- their 10th -- will be accompanied by a visual project, with each track getting a short film by an impressive group of directors. Christoph Girardet, Pierre Vinour, Claire Denis, Gabriel Sanna, Rosie Pedlow and Joe King, and Gregorio Graziosi are among the names chosen by the band for the filmic adventure.

They've also unveiled the first track and film, 'We Are Dreamers!', which features Jehnny Beth from Savages. The film is by Gabriel Sanna.

They'll also be playing a couple of live cine-concert events, including a date at London's Barbican on April 29th:

  • 29 April – London, UK @ The Barbican
  • 30 April - Coventry, UK @ Warwick Arts Centre*
  • 01 May – Liverpool, UK @ Liverpool Phil*
  • 02 May - Manchester, UK @ Bridgewater Hall*
  • 03 May – Edinburgh, UK @ Usher Hall*
  • 04 May – Gateshead, UK @ The Sage*
  • 06 May – Cambridge, UK @ Corn Exchange*
  • 07 May – Bristol, UK @ Colston Hall*
  • * Music Beyond Mainstream tour

The new album will be released on January 22nd, and will be available as a limited edition CD/DVD, LP /DVD and very limited clear vinyl LP/DVD.
