Back in September, I wrote about an artist named Tommy Newport. At the time, Newport had only just a handful of records out and was still very unknown, but when I first discovered his music, the most interesting about him was his raw talent. Since then, Newport has steadily grown as an artist - his music was featured on HBO’s Ballers, as well as Apple Music’s Best Of The Week. And now Newport has released his full-length debut album, Just To Be Ironic.

Newport says this about the album: "the theme of irony plays a big role in this project. I speak and write about things I normally wouldn’t want to anyone about... Some of the stuff I write about on these tracks are things that are specifically ironic to me. Like the line, 'do you like me be honest or just to be ironic', is used to describe how relationships I’ve been in have made me feel more ironic than anything in the end. You start out so confident, but in the end, you’re a pilot that’s afraid of heights."

The album is 13 tracks long and features previously released singles like 'I Forgive You', and 'La Riviera.' Newport will also be heading on his headlining North American Tour called Oh The Irony in 2019. And on that note, here is the premiere of the video for 'La Riviera'.
