Totally Mild is a Melbourne-based indie/dreampop project spearheaded by Elizabeth Mitchell, who released a debut album called Down Time in 2015. Since then, the project has expanded into a permanent foursome, who have fleshed out Mitchell's ideas into a much lusher and dreamier sound, which we will get to hear in full flow on second album Her, coming out on February 23rd. It is an album that Mitchell says "is a record of failure and victory, new desire, stale romance, queer domesticity and what comes when the party is over."

Today The 405 gets to premiere one of the album's highlights, 'From One Another', a song about what we give to and take from those around us whom we love - even though it might not be for the best. On the surface it sounds totally innocent, rendered in bright twanging guitars, bubblegum melodies and sing-song vocals. However, digging further into the actual words of the song and paying attention to Mitchell's careful inflections in her mellifluous voice, gives us a deeper and more resounding picture of someone dealing with the struggles of maintaining quotidian relationships, especially those emotional or romantic ones that can turn into a drain.

In her own words, Mitchell tells us that "'From One Another' is about the toxic energy of a relationship that has outstayed its welcome. It's the point where you realise that staying with someone out of habit is stopping you from moving forward.”
