Ex Hex recently announced their new album It's Real, due out on March 22nd, via the warped rocker 'Cosmic Cave'. Today they follow it up with the mind-numbing wizardry of 'Tough Enough', which will be the opening track of the new album.

Speaking about 'Tough Enough', the band says it's “all about three-dimensional power chords interplaying with whammy dive bombs. It’s a song about turning on your tough switch and forging ahead through whatever storms are happening around you ’cause you have no choice.”

We already know that Ex Hex are a trio of forces on their respective instruments, but 'Tough Enough' drives home their prowess with emphatic style. From the opening guitar bend, Ex Hex are in blustering form, oozing confidence as they slip into the death-or-glory power-pop chorus "good times never felt so bad." The trio's tight-knit playing is a thrill in any of their songs, but in 'Tough Enough' they show off their explosive chemistry, setting off rock bombs and laser beams in their wake while they drive heedlessly onwards. The final moments of 'Tough Enough' are a genuine aural kaleidoscope of bending notes, stormy fills and wailing strings.

Even better than just listening to the awesome 'Tough Enough' is watching Ex Hex flaunt their mastery in the hilariously sassy video in which things quickly go from bad to worse, and only the power of their playing can save the world.
