HALEY (fka Haley Bonar) recently re-emerged with the simmering new track 'Bratt', showing that the change in name was only the smallest development in her musical career. Today she has announced a new Euro tour, and to entice people along she has released the bruised and brooding new track 'My Wave'.

Where 'Bratt' was a fairly straightforward pop-rock song, 'My Wave' reveals whole new dimensions to HALEY's craft. In a funereal and weighty electronic guise, HALEY sings lyrics of hurt and redemption. The difficulty of making herself heard through the ever-encroaching gloom of the song makes it an even more affecting and impressive piece. In 'My Wave' you're invited to sink into the emotional current and be slowly and helplessly swept away with HALEY in her stream of rapturous misgivings.

"'My Wave' was intentional in its use of repetition and very few lyrics," says HALEY. "I like the idea of words carrying the same sonic weight as another instrument, more or less a textural addition rather than a centrepiece or emotionally derivative. That being said, the lyrics themselves seem to morph in their meaning with the repetition; maybe referring to the loss of yourself at times, or the loss of another, our connection to the natural world, or an emotional disconnect. Finding the strength to recognise that you hold the power to finding yourself or controlling your own connection to the world around you and others is simple, and powerful."
