Following on from an impressive 2018, IDER come bouncing back in 2019 sounding as impactful and irrepressible as ever with new single 'Brown Sugar'. It's another glimpse of what's to come on their debut album, which we expect will arrive later this year.

The duo's last single was the soul-searching 'Mirror', but this time out they're in much more confident mood, introducing 'Brown Sugar' by saying "We once heard that a great song is one you either want to dance to, cry to or have sex to. This is the last.”

Somerville and Markwick are not lying when it comes to the provocative nature of 'Brown Sugar'; after brushing aside anxieties about intimacy the track comes blasting into life with massive beats underscored by major piano keys and their intertwining vocals. Now firmly in the mood, IDER quickly get down to business: "I put myself right at the top of your plate/ I knew I'd be someone that you'd wanna taste." From there it's a sensual and swaggering pop extravaganza full of detailed production that bring to life the boudoir. The pair are simultaneously alluring and intimidating in their confidence, but as the passions get pushed as 'Brown Sugar' progresses, you're hanging on every word right up until the ecstatic ejection "I think that I could die here."
