Los Angeles based composer and pop experimentalist Julia Holter has announced the details of her new album; it's called Aviary and will see release through Domino on October 26th. She says: "Amidst all the internal and external babble we experience daily, it's hard to find one's foundation... I think this album is reflecting that feeling of cacophony and how one responds to it as a person - how one behaves, how one looks for love, for solace. Maybe it’s a matter of listening to and gathering the seeming madness, of forming something out of it and envisioning a future.”

The first track to be shared from the album, 'I Shall Love 2', certainly envisions a warm and loving future. Starting simply from a sparkling percussive track and regal splotches of strings, Julia Holter sighs her thoughts into the track, and is answered by a plethora of wispy instrumentation. As Holter overcomes, telling herself "who cares what people say," 'I Shall Love 2' swells around this newfound heart, with jazz bass and spiralling synthesizer melodies give the track the fairytale character of her best work. By the conclusion, Holter is joined in the majesty by a children's choir, as she repetitively resolves "I shall love," her words becoming an engulfing chant that sweeps through the song in one of the most resounding conclusions she's yet put to tape.
