Mass Gothic is the husband and wife duo of Noel Heroux and Jessica Zambri, and they have just announced the release of their second LP, due on Sub Pop on August 31st. It's called I Have Tortured You Long Enough, a sly nod to their 18 years together as a couple. While the title of the album might suggest tension on the surface, there is undoubtedly a lot of good humour and love in that title too - and that is borne out even further on their smashing new single and video 'J.Z.O.K.'

The duo has often flirted with working together, but I Have Tortured You Long Enough is their first collection where they feel they worked together as equals in a band. “Why did it take us so long?” asks Heroux - and we're asking the same thing, as the results speak for themselves. New track 'J.Z.O.K.' straddles the line between alt-rock and dance-pop with aplomb. They deliver an electrified verse of fuzzy guitar, interwoven teasingly with vocal loops, which then vaults straight into a mammoth sing-and-dance-along chorus. The connection between the central pair is the bonding force of the whole song, as they're backing each other to the nines, begging each other "save a little air for me/ I'm a little scared tonight." Backed by luminous synths and chugging momentum, the intimacy of the hook is blown up to thrilling proportions, and their love is scattered large across the soundscape.

The video for 'J.Z.O.K.', created by Addison Post, captures the couple in their element, rushing around the city in pure unadulterated joy. Check it out below.
