We're fast approaching the release of Miss Universe, the hotly-anticipated debut album from Nilüfer Yanya, and the London singer-songwriter is moving from strength to strength with the release of each new single.

Her newest release is 'Tears', a song that offers the flip-side to her brash and boisterous previous single 'In Your Head'. On this new track we find ourselves amidst sparklingly produced modern pop, with Yanya showing off her dextrous and rich vocal talents. 'Tears' features an intimate admission from Yanya to someone she loves, bravely imploring "hold back my tears/ hold back your tears," the simplicity of that statement not failing to deliver heartbreak. 'Tears' is moreover a song of self-discovery in another, with the sailing chorus carrying the revelation "it's true, all I really want is somebody to stop, somebody to hold me back." 'Tears' feels as though we're witnessing Yanya moving on from one period of her life into the next, moving forward a stronger person.

You can listen to 'Tears' via the YouTube embed below, where you'll hear a shortened version that also features an interlude of the sinister WWAYH Health, that pop up throughout Miss Universe.
