Newcomer Mysie has released impressive new single ‘Doves’ with an equally eye-catching video. Her voice commands attention, carrying worlds of emotional weight before it elevates for the elegiac chorus. It’s a hook made from quiet sorrow as she praises the uplifting qualities of her partner before resolving to the fact they must separate.

A new voice on the South London scene, Mysie’s vocal and honest narratives have cut through competition and won early fans. Speaking on this new single and its accompanying visual, directed by Dottie Kay, Mysie notes: "Doves is about lust. Wanting to leave but being drawn back by how amazing that person makes you feel. The highs being very high and the lows being really low. It's about doing what’s right for yourself.”

Weaving in sounds from her Ugandan heritage and a love of traditional jazz with heartfelt, worldly songwriting, Mysie has really made a strong impression on her debut EP Chapter 11. With a sophisticated tone similar to Rosie Lowe and Laura Mvula, this rising artist looks set to captivate more and more listeners as the year unfolds.
