One national treasure meets another with Mr Holmes. Sir Ian Mckellen takes on the role of a retired Sherlock Holmes, looking back on his life - haunted by an unsolved case. Staring an eclectic cast from Laura Linney to Phillip Davis, I think we can all be quite glad to see a new version of Sherlock. Although comparisons are inevitable, it'll be interesting to see how Holmes adapts to old age. And come on, who hasn't secretly thought that Gandalf and Sherlock would have been BFFs?

Toni Collette shows some serious acting prowess in Grassland. Grasslands looks into the issues of alcoholism from the point of view of its effects on others. Not one to watch when already feeling down and out then...

Dev Patel, Robert Sheehan and Zoe Kravitz star in The Road Within. Set within an unconventional patient clinic with diagnoses ranging from Tourette syndrome to eating disorder, three patients steal their doctor's car in pursuit of the ocean. With Kyra Sedgwick and Robert Patrick involved, this one looks particularly promising. It's also nice to see Dev in a film set somewhere other than a hotel.
