We recently brought you 'Damsel', from DIY duo Twen, the Boston-originating, Nashville-inhabiting duo of Jane Fitzsimmons Ian Jones. They'll be releasing their debut album Awestruck on September 20th through Frenchkiss. Today they've given us another glimpse of the record with 'Baptism'.

"This is a mantra we've been playing for 3 years now. Like a ritual cleansing, washing away the internal monologues and narratives that build up with time," the band tells us.

This can certainly be heard in the rising and falling dynamics of 'Baptism', where Fitzsimmons' voice is like a clarion call, cutting through the plundering power of the guitar and drums. Her voice shines like a beacon, embodying strength and determination to push on through the struggles of daily life; "we're not gonna take any more." They guide us right through to the sweet release that existence also yields, which comes out as an expressive finale. It's another thrilling number from the act, whose debut album is definitely one to keep in mind as we approach its release.
