Back in 2000 (before the White Stripes gained public notoriety), Jack White was in a garage punk band called The Upholsterers with family friend Brian Muldoon. They released a 7'' single called 'Makers of High Grade Suites' (limited to 100 copies) - allegedly hiding a few copies inside some furniture.

Now, two copies of a second, previously unknown single, have surfaced - also hidden in furniture. 'Your Furniture Was Always Dead… I Was Just Afraid To Tell You' was, according to White himself, recorded and hidden in 2004 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his partner-in-crime Muldoon's furniture business. That's the cover above, designed by Detroit artist Gordon Newton.

Jack White has made no reference to other releases being concealed in furniture, so please don't go ripping apart your aunt's sofa in search of an uncanny Christmas gift.
