If you thought that the recent release of a live album and the announcement of some residencies playing old albums meant that Ty Segall would be slowing down on producing new material - think again. The Bay Area rocker continues to churn out the gold, and this summer he will release a new album called First Taste. It comes out through Drag City on August 2nd.

Along with the announcement, Ty has shared the (semi-) title track 'Taste', a typically frenetic rocker jam-packed with power pop hooks. Across screeching guitars and almost conga-like percussion, Ty is in fierce mood, squealing "our salivating makes it all taste worse" through the song's rambunctious mid-section. The fact is, the song does make us salivate for more Ty, and the wait until August 2nd does leave a sour taste in our mouths - but at least we have this ripping new track (and plenty of back catalogue) to keep us sated in the meantime.
