Ugly scenes unfolded at Tyler, the Creator's SXSW show at Scoot Inn when the 23-year old rapper encouraged some hundreds of fans -- who were stuck outside of the outdoor venue -- to break down the gates.

In light of Thursday's tragedy, local law enforcement are taking no chances with the festival's attendees, and Tyler has been arrested and accused of "encouraging behaviour causing an immediate danger and injury to persons" by Austin police.

He was arrested at Austin-Bergstrom airport, and if convicted, he could face a sentence of up to one year in jail and a fine of $4,000. He made bail on Saturday and went on to perform that night at the House of Blues in Dallas, Texas.

Austin police have released Tyler's mugshot (above) and their official report of the incident to the public. Read it here.
