Oh, U2, you sly devils. It was reported a while back that their new album Songs of Innocence wouldn't be eligible for the Billboard charts or for next year's Grammys because it would need to be made commercially available by a certain date - that date happens to be today, 30 September.

Songs of Innocence was originally slated for a release date of 14 October, therefore rendering it ineligible, but they decided to quietly release limited quantities of the record on vinyl. Rolling Stone reported that it will still be available for you to purchase (if for some reason getting it for free just wasn't enough for you) in its regular and deluxe forms on 14 October.
