It discusses the history of the show from its start in 1971 until 1993, when its legendary host and creator Don Cornelius stepped down from hosting. Soul Train contains over 350 photos, and gives insight to "the larger-than-life characters who defined ["Soul Train"]: the great host Don Cornelius, the extraordinary musicians, and the people who lived the phenomenon from the dance floor."
