Promising indie-pop artist Lauran Hibberd returned earlier this month with her catchy as hell single, ‘What Do Girls Want?’. The female-power anthem is sweeping with spirited guitars and Hibberd’s blithe vocals. The Isle of Wight native is creating her own path here, gliding toward different directions than her peers. Hibberd’s sly lyrics are candid while her fast-paced tempo is bracing and a blast to move along to.

Now the songwriter has released the music video for her latest single, which is premiering exclusively here on The 405. Here’s what she had to say about the clip: “Filmed on the Isle of Wight, by some of my favourite people featuring more of my favourite people. ‘What Do Girls Want?’ wish they could skate and make a bedroom in the back of a Citroen Berlingo? Maybe not, but that’s just me. This was so much fun to film, and locks in on the character I hope the track has. Huge thanks to Skinny Mammoth Productions, Wight Trash Skateboards, Martha Egg, Doug Richards and Dougie Newell.”

Hibberd occupies a certain and captivating appeal as her sonic style separates herself so far away from being just another indie-pop artist. ‘What Do Girls Want?’ is refreshing on many levels, but it isn’t trying to be anything other than a fun and infectiously catchy tune. The track is lyrically imbued in these modern times and while it’s sardonically conveyed, it feels like the quintessential anthem for this day and age. Hibberd is definitely an artist to keep an eye and ear out for as her invigorating arrangements, witty songwriting, and carefree attitude are distinctly fresh and diverse.

The songstress is coming off her previous 2018 singles, ‘Fun Like This’ and ‘Call Shotgun’. She has several shows lined up in the UK:
