Underground Festival 25th/26th September
Cheltenham and Gloucester are enjoying quite the scene at the moment. A mini-hotbed of talent both musical and organisational, we'll shortly be returning (after the excellent 2000 Trees) to sample the delights of Underground, held in Gloucester guildhall. The fact that the main curator is the man behind the ever-swish Idle Hands Management team (and an all round good egg), and the lovely Cheltenham-based 'zine Risk & Consequence is handling an acoustic stage that has snagged the incredible Tubelord to do an acoustic set means the whole thing is very promising indeed. Read on for all the information you could possibly want. The main stage will be in the Guildhall's 400 capacity theatre, showcasing some of the best upcoming bands in the country. Just the other side of the bar is the Cinema Stage, which will feature acoustic talent with the odd bit of electronica thrown in. On top of that a lounge is being set up the art gallery, with performances curated by Risk and Consequence fanzine.
Main stage Line up:
Chapel Club The Joy Formidable Egyptian Hip-Hop Pulled Apart By Horses The Xcerts Wilder Morning Parade Japanese Voyeurs Little Fish Airship Islet Plus Many MANY more.

On top of this Gloucester Guildhall have lined up some of the nations hottest indie labels to man the DJ decks for the weekend. Oh, and one of the biggest names in Rock publishing too: Clash Magazine. Saturday will see Pip from Friends vs. Records (The Joy Formidable, Dinosaur Pileup, Rogues, Canterbury, Soft Toy Emergency etc.) playing a solo set. Sunday will see a four-way tag-team match, with Kev from Big Scary Monsters (Kevin Devine blah) and Jack from Alcopop! (The Candle Thieves, Stagecoach, Elephants, Aspen Sails, My First Tooth) going up against Alex from Holy Roar (Rolo Tomassi, Throats, Maths, Holy State) and Ben from Rock Sound Magazine.
