When he's not busy being in Vampire Weekend or recording with Jenny Lewis, the band's own Rostam Batmanglij is scoring Broadway musicals. He'll be creating the score for the Broadway revival of Kenneth Lonergan's This Is Our Youth, which is a play about adolescence (not surprisingly) and the Reagan-era. It will star Michael Cera, Kieran Culkin, and Tavi Gevinson, and it will be all three actors Broadway debut. It premiered almost 10 years ago in 1996 and has had a number of fantastic actors on its cast, including Matt Damon, Anna Paquin, and Jake Gyllenhaal. The new version will be produced by Scott Rudin.

This will be Batmanglij's first role in theater, having worked with the likes of the aforementioned Jenny Lewis, producing all of Vampire Weekend's records, and lending a hand to The Walkmen's Hamilton Leithauser, Best Coast, and Kid Cudi. This Is Our Youth follows three rebellious college students as they struggle to find their place in society, finding their values opposing those of the Reagan era. It opens on 18 June in Chicago and 11 September in New York.
