Vanessa White is standing tall on her own. After releasing her highly praised debut solo EP Chapter One last month, as well as providing accompanying visuals for every track on the EP, she's still found time to cover one of her favourite tracks of the moment. Produced by new outfit Subside (comprised of Sillkey and White's frequent collaborator Tre Jean-Marie), White takes on man of the moment Bryson Tiller's breakout hit 'Exchange' and reworks it into more of a soulful R&B cut while also borrowing a few bars from K. P. & Envyi's 1998 classic 'Swing My Way', which Tiller's track also samples. Our favourite east Londoner Kojey Radical also adds a slick verse for even greater measure.

Speaking on the refix to i-D, White said : "I'm a huge Bryson Tiller fan and was lucky enough to be at his one-off show in London a couple months ago. 'Exchange' is my favourite track on the 'TRAPSOUL' record and I wanted to approach it from a female perspective - then Kojey brought in a whole other dimension to the remix with his verse, which I love! Adding that old school R&B vibe with KP & Envyi's 'Swing My Way' (which Bryson also samples) was loads of fun as it's still such a tune. The response to the Chapter One EP has been pretty amazing so far so I'm excited for everyone to hear this."

Vanessa will play her first solo headline show on March 16th at London's Cargo followed by an appearance at the inaugural RISE Concert on March 29. Tickets for both events are available now. Chapter One is out now on iTunes and all good digital stores.
