May is typically a month that is stacked with blockbuster releases, and 2018’s was no different. Our 10 picks for the month don’t feature any debut albums (honourary mention to illuminati hotties’ Kiss Yr. Frenenmies), but saw hugely anticipated returns from the likes of Courtney Barnett and Arctic Monkeys, to name just a couple. The overall picture from our 10 albums of May gives a vague impression of how diverse modern music is, with plenty of slacker rock with the likes of Parquet Courts and Stephen Malkmus, hip-hop from Pusha T, and electronic from Skee Mask and Jon Hopkins. There is undoubtedly at least one thing for everyone in this collection, so get listening and find out which ones are for you.
