Glasgow-based record store Volcanic Tongue have accused organisers of stealing their idea for Cassette Store Day, after they began their own event in 2012.

Organisers are branding the day - inspired by the popular Record Store Day - as the first of its kind with special releases are planned from 4AD, Domino, Bella Union, SEXBEAT and Wichita. Cassette Store Day is due to take place on 7th September.

However Volcanic Tongue's 2012 event was promoted instore and even saw the label release an exclusive tape from Richard Youngs, under his Library Assistants namesake.

According to FACT, store Owner David Keenan has called the idea of someone taking the idea and making it official, "pretty funny and a little frustrating."
