Moving to Dalston three months ago, Mont Jake arrived with only his laptop, some threads and one friend from home in the city of Copenhagen. Signing to Island Records and dropping his debut Shadow EP earlier this year, with big collaborations featuring Wu Tang Clan’s Masta Killa on the sultry-smooth ‘Shadow’ and funk-infused, ‘I Had Music,’ with Chicago poet Noname, Mont Jake appeared with a sound you wouldn’t usually expect of a mysterious 24-year-old from Denmark.

A very modern triple-threat, Jake started writing, recording and producing all his own music from the confines of his bedroom at 16. Now Mont Jake shares ‘Daydreaming’, a huge statement of intent for the singer and producer. Collaborating with his immediate community – three brothers from Copenhagen who produced, directed and edited the film, and people he found on Instagram – ‘Daydreaming’ documents contrasting cities and cultures from Brixton to Tokyo.

Mont Jake will perform at new London clubnight FORECAST at Scotch of St James on Wednesday December 7th. RSVP here.
