Ryan Adams made his return to the stage at Newport Folk Fest last Friday (July 25th). During his set, Adams premiered three tracks from his upcoming self-titled album set for release on September 8th. The singer gave an especially tender performance of 'My Wrecking Ball', a previously unheard track he introduced as a protest song, protesting the death of his grandmother.

Recent years have seen turbulent times for Adams who suffers from an inner-ear disorder called Ménière's disease, which affects hearing and balance. The disease meant that the seasoned alt-country musician's performances were sometimes ridden with anxiety and there were instances where he was unable to see a set through.

Back on seemingly good form, Adam's set list featured 16 tracks covering all of his fourteen studio albums, including the forthcoming release.
