Aberdeen, Washington honoured one of its most famous sons yesterday with Kurt Cobain Day, taking place on what would've been the late singer's 47th birthday. The celebrations included a special concert that featured Cobain's former guitar teacher, and the unveiling of a statue that could've only have been made worse and less tasteful if it has been modelled on Kurt post-suicide. But not everyone in the town was as gung-ho for Kurt and Nirvana as you would think, which you can see in the clip from Channel K5 news below. Several locals criticise him for his infamous drug abuse and call him a bad role model.
