Before heading out on his debut North American tour, while in the midst of working on his forthcoming debut album, Stormzy stopped by Oxford University yesterday for a 90-minute talk that resulted in a lot of questions and a lot of laughs. The Oxford Guild, the UK’s largest and oldest professional society est. 1897 streamed the talk live on their Periscope channel (@TheOxfordGuild).

"We are delighted to be welcoming to the Oxford Guild such an exciting and high profile a speaker as the one and only Stormzy and expect it to be a fascinating and memorable event and are thrilled that he will be doing an exclusive performance for those attending," Chairman, Abbas Kazmi, spoke on the event beforehand. "We've had a phenomenal reaction from the student body so far with over 1,200 students balloting for places in under 24 hours of announcing it. It is very rewarding to see the hard work pay off, and following on from previous successful events, such as Kanye West’s talk last year (which went global and has widely been described as one of the biggest speakers that Oxford and any society in the UK has seen in the past decades), Lil Jon’s fantastic address in May, Nina Kraviz’s event in November and Martin Garrix just a week ago in February, this is yet another great coup for the Guild which I am proud to see continuing to reach ever higher heights."
