Welsh musicians and artists have no doubt been biting their nails and do-re-me-ing nervously in anticipation for this announcement for the past few weeks, and now it's here.

Every year, the Welsh Music Prize singles out some of the finest new Wales-based acts from around the country. As highly regarded as the Mercury Music Prize, it was created in 2011 by Radio 1's Huw Stephens to showcase Welsh musical talent. So far, it's done a cracking job.

This year the shortlist includes Little Arrow, Neon Neon and Winter Villains. Check below for the full list of hopefuls.
