Natalie Mering, who performs under the moniker Weyes Blood, was once described by the Baltimore City Paper as a cross between a "'60s American folk poet" and a "medieval bard who has seen the 21st century." Mering's latest single, 'Do You Need My Love,' does nothing to clear up exactly where and when in time she is supposed to be.

Flourished with organs and luscious backing harmonies, Mering channels the best lovelorn anthems of the 1970s. The question posed in the title is painful enough to even consider, but when Mering allows the words to ooze out of her with authentic pain, it really can pull some serious heartstrings.

Weyes Blood's upcoming album, Front Row Seat To Earth, is due out on October 21st through Mexican Summer.
