Sad news this morning as we wake to find that Whitney Houston has died, aged 48.

Houston was found in her hotel room late last night, with the Police spokesman Mark Rosen calling her death at 23:55 GMT (15:55). The singer was set to perform at Clive Davis's pre-Grammy party last night at the Beverly Hilton.

Most people reading this site will be familiar with her music, with quite a few of you growing up during the golden period of her career, with hits such as 'Saving All My Love For You' and 'I Will Always Love You', which featured in The Bodyguard.

Despite having a platinum selling album back in 2009 (I Look To You) - the singer had a pretty rocky time recently, with spells in rehab and questionable live performances.

Let's not forget though, Houston was one of the biggest selling female artists of all time, and possibly one of the most influential too.
