What's the deal with Christmas that makes bands think about splitting up? The turkey? Santa? This time the sad news comes from Portland band Wild Flag, as it seems they've called it a day.

"It was great but I think it just kinda ran its course," drummer Janet Weiss said in a recent interview with The Skinny. "It's hard to have a band when you live five hours apart by plane."

The four-piece supergroup released their self-titled debut album in 2011, but a follow-up never arrived. However, Weiss and Brownstein seem to be kind-of reuniting Sleater-Kinney, so it's not only about bad news. [via Best Fit]
