Wiley is leaving current label Warner Music following a dispute over his latest album. Wiley signed to the label last year, and released his first UK number one with them ('Heatwave').

Despite the single's success, artistic differences over new album The Ascent have meant that he wishes to part company with Warner.

He leaked his preferred cut of the new record last month without consulting Warner, and stated "I am walking out of Warner today, I don’t need em anymore." Perhaps the reason he's still wearing his Rolex is because according to him, Wiley has "rinsed majors for every penny, enough is enough. Need to put my own money where my mouth is now and stop pussy footing around the industry. I have got time for [Warner] and I respect you but goodbye."
