Later today Will.i.am will become the first person ever to debut their new single live from Mars.

The Black Eyed Peas rapper's new song, 'Reach For The Stars' will be broadcast live from the surface of the red planet, via NASA's Curiosity rover on Tuesday at 2000 GMT to a press conference at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, where Will.i.am will be present as part of an educational event.

The song, which has been described as an ode to the singer's "passion for science, technology and space exploration," is part of a collaboration between NASA and the rapper's i.am.angel Foundation - which aims to provide digital resources to children in the US.

Curiosity, NASA's $2.5bn, one-tonne, six-wheeled, nuclear-powered rover landed inside Mars' Gale Crater on August 6th where it was dispatched to search for organic materials considered necessary for life to evolve.
