Avant-garde composer William Basinski, best known for his four volume work Disintegration Loops, is prepping Nocturnes for release next month.

Nocturnes encompasses two long running tracks. The title track, running 40 minutes, is pulled together from Basinski’s earliest recordings and influences and built from eight or ten loops. The second, titled 'The Trail of Tears', clocks in at almost 30 minutes. Basinski describes the track as a newer and darker piece, some pieces of which were included in a Robert Wilson opera called The Life and Death of Marina Abramonivic.

Nocturnes will be released via Basinski's 2062 imprint on June 25, but for now we have an 11 minute sample from the title track available for streaming on his Soundcloud page.
