California-based experimental project Xiu Xiu have announced they'll be releasing a new album next year.

FORGET is their 10th proper album, although this year's Record Store Day saw them putting out a collection of cover versions from the Twin Peaks soundtrack.

In fact, both the Twin Peaks album and Jamie Stewart's collaborations with the likes of Merzbow and Mitski are cited as inspirations for FORGET - a record produced by John Congleton and Angela Seo (Deerhoof/Xiu Xiu). The album features guest appearances from the likes of Kristof Hahn (Swans), Charlemagne Palestine, and drag artist Vaginal Davis.

"To forget uncontrollably embraces the duality of human frailty," Stewart says of the album’s title. "It is a rebirth in blanked out renewal but it also drowns and mutilates our attempt to hold on to what is dear."

FORGET is preceded by first single 'Wondering', which you can stream below; it's out on February 17th via Polyvinyl.
