Today would've been Gil Scott-Heron's 65th birthday, and to celebrate XL Recordings have announced they will be releasing a new album comprised of some of late performers unheard recordings called Nothing New. These new versions of some of his classic songs are naked piano versions stripped on any overdubs, and recorded during the sessions for his final studio album I'm New Here.

Nothing New will be limited to 3,000 copies and is only being released on 12" vinyl. It will be exclusively for Record Store Day on April 19th.
