Following the likes of Spotify and Google All Access, YouTube could possibly be adding pay-for-subscription services for ad-free videos by the end of this year.

The story broke earlier today, which hasn't been confirmed as of yet. According to Billboard, YouTube may be offering an "on demand" service, comparative to Spotify Premium.

A subscription would not only prevent ads, but apparently allow users to watch offline and possibly listen/watch music on multiple platforms "including mobile."

The news comes a few months after the site began to offer subscription services, but in limited quantity, for $0.99 per month.
