Flaming Lips' frontman Wayne Coyne is an avid user of social networks, but lately his relationship with Instagram has become a bit rough, as Instagram suspended his account alleging rule violation, and although Coyne has already created a new one, all of his old photos have been deleted.

"Since last fall Instagram has almost solely been Wayne Coyne's social media outlet (yes, he uses twitter - but mostly just auto-tweets from his Instagram account)," says Flaming Lips' fanbase The Future Hearts on Facebook. "Yesterday Instagram closed his account, clearing a treasure trove of concert photos, behind-the-scenes images of current Flaming Lips projects, rare band pictures and posters from their 30 year career, shots with other musicians (Patrick Carney, Jack White, Kevin Parker, etc), weird art, playful selfies and random scenes from his daily life. Wayne's account at instagram.com/waynecoyne totaled 1227 photos - all now gone. We are requesting his account be treated the same as other celebrities who have posted photos violating their terms of use yet remain active (i.e. Tyler, the Creator, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Chrissy Teigen, Heidi Klum, Miranda Kerr)."
