Everybody knew this was going to happen – ever since Apple acquired Beats Music last year – we all knew it. Now look at the picture above: does that not tell you everything?

Well, the only difference now in this latest in a long string of minute updates on this story is that it's basically official now, as reported by the New York Times; they also reported that Apple apparently tried to get labels to lower their licensing fees so they could charge a very competitive $8 for subscriptions, but that fell through. Inexplicably, Trent Reznor has allegedly had a hand in redesigning the iPhone's music app for the occasion. An updated version of iTunes Radio is also being worked on.

The name "Beats Music" will also be scrapped.
