The Weeknd's former producer, Jeremy Rose, spoke to Vice about his role in Abel Tesfaye's rise to fame. Though his name has been scrapped from the credits, Rose (who is now producing as 'Zodiac') was largely responsible for getting those early tracks off the ground. According to the interview:
- Just so we’re crystal clear: The first three songs released by the Weeknd, which Drake posted to his blog, all feature your production.
- And those are the first three tracks that initially got the Weeknd recognized by outlets like the New York Times and Pitchfork.
The kicker? Rose hasn't been paid for his contributions. Ouch. Read the rest of his interview over at Vice.
