A few days ago he was reported to have filed a case against Birdman and his label home, Cash Money, for $8 million (that amount was an advance on the album that he says he should've received by now). That in itself is a lot of money. However, the real claim has actually surfaced and this time around it has been revealed that the real amount is $51 million. Yes, Lil Wayne is suing his former mentor and longtime label for that much – as well as demanding to be "set free" from the label at the same time.

The whole thing came about because Cash Money were delaying the release of, or even refusing to release, Lil Wayne's upcoming album Tha Carter V. So he released a mixtape called Sorry 4 The Wait 2, to simultaneously apologise for the wait (obviously) and perhaps bring attention to the situation at Birdman's label. Oh and it happened before with Tha Carter IV.
