Label: EMI, XL Recordings Link: Euphoric.Epic.Euphoric.Epic.Euphoric.Epic.  If ever two words could describe Sigur Rós' music then the above two certainly would be it, especially after listening to their latest release, með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust (With a Buzz in Our Ears We Play Endlessly). 'Gobbledigook' starts off the record as a certain call of arms. It's like Sigur Rós are mocking us with this track "oh you think you had us figured out did you?, well check this song out" and it works so well. Not many post-rock bands can create such a different sounding song to their previous work (i haven't forgotten about you Animal Collective!) while still sounding exactly like themselves. But don't be fooled by the single because the vast majority of this record sounds like a continuation of Takk. The main feeling i got from listening to this for the first time was that it feels more sentimental in the sense that they a lot of the tracks, towards the end anyway, are very much like ballads. This could pose a problem for some people but you only have to hear Jónsi's vocals hit those ridiculously high notes on 'Ára bátur' to be converted into believing this is Sigur Rós at their finest.  It may not be immediately awesome as Takk but i have a feeling this will grow into being one of their best.
