Today our continuing guest art curators, Heinali and Matt Finney, talk us through the work the work of the surrealist, Danny Malboeuf. Image and video hosting by TinyPic Danny Malboeuf's work is a combination of H.R. Giger and Salvador Dali. These are the two very visible influences, but they're all over the place. From anime to gothic, he leaves no stone unturned. He doesn't try to hide them either. He wants you to check him out, but he also wants to take you on an Easter egg hunt through everything that he likes as well. Image and video hosting by TinyPic It's very appealing but you get the sense that something is very wrong. A sinister image is always waiting to be discovered. We mean that in the best way possible. He's a Surrealist for our times and we think he's one of the most talented guys around. If you're looking for someone who can paint women laying in bed, with octopus-like creatures from a doomed planet, and still make it look nice enough to hang on your wall, then you're in the right place. If that's not you're thing, give him a try anyway. You might like him. You never know... Image and video hosting by TinyPic
