Into It. Over It. reminded me a little of Dashboard Confessional. On the rather dark stage at the small, half-empty venue, Evan curled up on a chair and played a couple of songs, with anecdotes or funny introductions between each and with the Grown Ups rooting for him and singing along among the audience.
As for Grown Ups - they kick some SERIOUS ASS. Compared to their explosive, loud (god bless earplugs!) and extremely engaging performance, their album More Songs now seems almost immature. They jumped, screamed, and brought everyone back to the 90's - when referring to "emo" wasn't to mean My Chemical Romance but music that's raw and intense.
